New York - March 2008

The 'magical adventues' have begun a little early, we headed to New York on the 14th March 2008 with Katie & Jon for the big surprise for Louise. We arrived at New York airport and headed straight out in a yellow cab with one of many a moody cab drivers to Ads & Lous apartment in Ho-bo-ken. Lou finally arrived home after a hard days work to Brett, Jon, Katie & I walking out of her bedroom. It was the best reaction we could have had.....Lou screamed the house down and then just cried!! Not sure if it was crying beacause Ads was supposed to be taking her on a surprise weekend away but we turned out to be the surprise...I'm sure it was us!! Once the surprise sunk in....the planning for the next few days begun....
We had a great week in NY with Lou and Ads being the perfect tour guides and hosts. We've only been back a few days and for the life of me I can't remember the names of some of the fab restaurents we went to....on our first full day we headed out for the traditional New York Saturday brunch before heading out on the local tour of New York where we had a glimpse of all the secret sites of New York. We then headed to the river and Brooklyn Bridge for some St Patrick Day drinks, food and more drinks then of for a yum American meal....You'll begin to see all we pretty much did was eat and drink, hence the lack of memory!
Sunday 16th was Katies birthday we headed out to brunch where Sex and the City was filmed we had champagne cocktails for breakfast to start the day in style. A few more bars and a quick change we headed to Madison Square Garden for the basket ball the NY Knicks v Atlanta. What an expericance that was I think the first 'time out' was within minute one of the game and I'm sure every five mins the players were off for a competion, cheerleaders or an advertisment to begin! We then headed off for a slap up meal at a very posh Sea food restaurent (mine & Bretts favourite place!:-) for those of you that know us well you'll be amazed that Brett and I ate lobster and sword fish... a massive moment in our non eating fish lives!!!!
The next few days were spent doing the sites and shopping until we literally dropped, followed by a very sad Lou to say Goodbye to before we headed of on our First Class train to Boston......
