Port Douglas, Cairns, Australia

We had a three hour flight from Auckland in to Brisbane where we were met by Christine who is Eve's (Bretts Mum)couisns wife. We were staying with them for one night before heading off the following day to go to Cairns. So, we had had 6 weeks of home comforts in New Zealand and were now being put up again in a lovely house.
Our flight to Cairns was about two and a half hours long the views of the shore line from the plane were stunning. when we arrived in Cairns it was so hot and humid but very cloudy, we were not expecting clouds. So, we hired a car to drive to our resort which I had found on a last minute deal on the internet and it looked as though it was going to be lovely. We had about an hours drive from the airport and when we pulled up to our apartment it looked exactly how we had seen it on line - a stunning modern apartment. It was all white with two rooms with King size beds, flat screen tvs and a balcony overlooking the golf course and mountains. Brett & I went straight to the supermarket and bought lots of food for the week and went home to cook a lovely meal for us all.
The follwoign day was very cloudy with lots of rain through out the day, which was a bit dissappointing, so we used the day to plan our week and look at all the tours.
To be continued.........
