Auckland, New Zealand

We slept most of the way on our flight to NZ and arrived in to Auckland at 4am on the Saturday morning. We were met by Mel and Brett which was sooo nice. We said goodbye to the others who had to go and wait for a few hours before getting a bus and in to a hostel. We jumped in the car with Mel & Brett and headed to their lovely home.
I have been carrying tea bags around with me since we left the UK but the tea has never quite tasted the same with out the normal milk, so my first cuppa at Mel and Bretts was such a treat and toast. It was so nice just to have toast and butter and for it to taste so yum. I think on our first day in NZ I must have had about 20 cups of tea!! When Mel showed us our room I could have just gone to bed there and then as the bed looked so inviting with a lovely duvet and two pillows each, what a treat.
We all stayed up as we knew if we went to bed it would ruin it for later on. Brett was in need of a hair cut and Mels Brett was going too so the Bretts went off to the mall for a haircut whilst Mel & I went for a massage, what a great morning we had. We then went over to Aunty Lindas where Graham was cooking bacon, eggs and pnackaes for the kids and there was enough for us so on to our second breakfast of the day mmmm. Our first day in Auckland really was all about seeing the family of course and eating we had lovely fresh rolls at Mels before going back to Lindas for a lovely Sunday roast Dinner with the family. We reminded them all at this point that we had a 6 month visa and that we would see that visa out at this point. It was yum!
We spent the next few days hanging out with our cousins and their kids, we had a round of mini golf with Mel and Brett where Mel & I had to be reminded to tap the ball and not whack it! It was so nice to be around family and just hang out in the same place.
As my other Aunty was heading out we wanted to go down South so when every one was back up North we could be with them. So we booked our flight to go down to Queenstown for some skiing.
So after a lovely few days with the family, we were off again to the South Island, heading for Queenstown....
