Boston - March 2008

We arrived in Boston after a very scenic, luxurious train ride to pouring rain. Rob got us straight in a cab to our very nice Taj hotel, it used to be the Ritz!! We checked in and had a very chilled afternoon before meeting Rob & Kim for dinner in Little Italy, where we have a very nice meal...a little train lagged we headed back home to prepare for the sights of Boston!
On Thursday we helped to full fill one of Robs dreams to go on the Trolley bus ride around Boston, if you ever go to Boston you must do this the driver commentary is fantastic and you really get to see the best parts of Boston! :-) Not being able to cope for more than a couple of hours without food we headed to Joes for lunch and had a very nice American Burger which pretty much did us in for a few hours, maybe except Brett who has the biggest appetite of anyone I've ever met! We then ventured over for the Ice Hockey game Boston Bruins v Montreal Canadians. We all got in to the spirit and had bear heads, bear hands and pointy fingers a beer and a hot dog for a fun packed night at the game! A lot more to drink, another bar followed by Karaoke where Rob and I did a lovely duet of twist and shout another dream full filled for Rob!
Friday was filled with more shopping with our personal guide, we were supposed to be going to an Ethiopian restaurant but couldn't get booked in. It wasn't until we actually saw the restaurant that we believed it existed! We went to a contemporary American restaurant.
We got to Saturday in dis belief at it being our last day in America....well only for a week for me and Brett :-)We went to the US Constitution where we visited the oldest Navy boat in the US and had a full guided tour. We then went to Bunker Hill where we climbed the 295 steps to the top of the monument which proved some thing I already know...I'm so unfit and very scared of heights! With wobbly legs we went back to the Northend and to Little Italy where Rob & Kim found us another lovely Italian restaurant for our final meal in Boston!
